If you are overweight, have tried various diets (General Diet/Atkins diet/De-toxic diet and other various forms of starvation diet) and are fed up of eating soups and salads, this book can be your salvation. Go ahead and buy the book… it is a good and light read. And it tells you to EAT. Not just salads and soups but yummy stuff like peanuts and cheese and paneer. I tried the diet guidelines for 10 days and realized that I was feeling more energized. Finally I signed up with the lady herself. It cost me an arm an leg – 45000 Rs. for two months but it is money well-spent. I have been on the ‘diet’ with her for 1 month now and am simply loving it. I have also signed up at the gym. Am working out thrice a week with a personal trainer. He too was recommended by Rujuta. She runs a gym at SIES college and RUIA college and you can sign up at either of the gyms and train under her trainers. Or you can ask the trainer to come to your gym and train you.
Diet recommended by Rujuta:
On wake-up : 1 banana
9:30 am: Post work-out : 1 glass of protein shake + 1 boiled potato
10:30 am: Any home-cooked breakfast (like poha, egg white omelette, upma, idli, dosa, paratha, etc.)
1 pm: 1 bowl legume (cooked: like chole, rajma etc.) + 1 glass of buttermilk
3 pm: nariyal pani (tender coconut water) with malai
5 pm: 1 slice of cheese
7 pm : 1 cooked green vegetable + 1 roti with 1 teaspoon ghee on it
Have been asked to have 5 litres of water everyday (although I manage only about 3-4).. Am also taking various dietary supplements along with this:
- on wake up : multivitamin
- post work out : flax seed 1000 mg, Lymsee 500 mg, Bio E 400 IU
- at 7 pm: Selace forte
-at bed time: Supracal
I have put up my diet chart just for reference. Your diet will be based on your likes and dislikes. Thats the best part about Rujuta. The first time I met her, she asked me to have an apple in the morning. I hate apples. So I told her that I don’t want apple because I can’t see myself eating an apple first thing in the morning for the rest of my life. So she asked me what I liked and when I said banana, she said ok, eat a banana. It was that simple! Same thing for curd. She said eat curd and I said I hate curd. “How about buttermilk?”, she asked.
You must be wondering why I am raving about Rujuta and her diet and her book….. you see its not about her. Its about me! She prescribed it, but I followed it. You have to love yourself enough to want to change and you have to put in the effort to do it. She is there only to help. I decided to blog this because when I first found out about how expensive she is, I was wondering if the money would go down the drain. But it was worth every penny. My skin is glowing, my hair feels soft and my body looks lean. I look good and feel great!
If you need info about how to contact Rujuta or where to buy the supplements (the flax seed is not available at all drug stores) do feel free to write back. Any other questions about the diet and the book please feel free to ask. I will put up an excerpt of the book shortly on my blog. Once I finish the diet, I will write more here….so keep visiting!!!
